Alexandra Pitt (b. 1973, Hobart) is a multidisciplinary artist working across drawing, painting, printmaking, mixed media, and sculpture. Her practice explores the spaces between representation and abstraction, where familiar motifs; birds, shells, human figures, and landscapes; dissolve into gestural marks and emerge as emotional terrains.

The figure in the landscape recurs throughout her work, functioning as self-portraiture and a symbol of experience within place. Line is her primary language; fluid, expressive, and intuitive, guiding each work through a process that is both spontaneous and deliberate, transforming the intangible into something tangible.

Responding to the Tasmanian landscape, domestic interiors, mythology, and beauty, Pitt documents vivid memories and stories through sensitive mark-making and material exploration. Her atmospheric works blur the distinction between internal and external landscapes, creating contemplative spaces where observation and memory intertwine
